NONE IN the industry has utilized `Crazy' Mohan's inimitable ingenuity in comic dialogue as wonderfully as Kamal Haasan has. "Panchathanthiram", it has been a hilarious Crazy-Kamal combo all the way. With story by Kamal Haasan and screenplay and direction by K. S. Ravikumar, "Pancha... " is completely entertaining. A couple of Deva's tunes are hum-worthy. (more)

Barrel of laughs.

The film is an out and out comedy and Crazy Mohan, Tamil cinema's premier purveyor of laughs, delivers, in the form of snappy one-liners interspersed with situational comedy. The centerpiece is obviously Kamal Hassan but for once, he does not give in to his penchant for stealing every scene. Thus, the laughs are distributed among Kamal and his friends. (more)
