Nimirnthu Nil - Praiseworthy Intent!!!
The first half of Nimirnthu Nil is always on the move and almost reaches a mini crescendo towards the interval. The dialogues at a few places are noteworthy raising very pertinent questions. By roping in Gopinath the movie scores heavily in the scenes involving the media as his presence lends authenticity. Sarathkumar's role is very precise. When you walk out in the intermission you indeed feel a certain high and wait for the remaining action to unfold. (more)

A vigilante movie which could be given a shot
Samuthirakani has to be patted on his back for the drive and resolve in his script and his intentions to voice for a change in society through his movie. Jayam Ravi stands to be counted yet again, with a terrific performance and has translated Samuthirakani's vision on to the screen fittingly. The message Change begins from within though oft-repeated, is one worth reiterating.(more)

Nimirnthu Nil - Changing the system upright
A better treatment in second half would have made much wonders. Still if you are a fan of anti corruption films, you can go for it as Samuthirkani and team surely have something new to tell you. (more)

Nimirnthu Nil Review
There is a particular moment in Nimirnthu Nil when you stop taking the film seriously and exasperatedly just let it run its course. It happens when CBI officer Michael ( Sarath Kumar, in a guest appearance) comes flying out of nowhere in a car and crashes into a truck which is telecasting, illegally, an interview with the protagonist Aravind Sivaswamy ( Jayam Ravi), who is doing an expose on corrupt government officials. The truck is moving along on the Bangalore-Chennai highway, and only in the previous minute, we have been shown Michael, who is apparently in Chennai, telling a TV channel head that he has challenged his ego and he will not rest until he captures Aravind (notice the topical relevance of the name). And so, when Michael joins the chase in Supermanesque fashion, it is a little surreal and so absurd.(more)
