Brave Attempt
Director Vijay’s first attempt at making a straight Tamil film Madrasapattinam should be lauded. The films heavy mood and its length 165 minutes, especially in the first half (95 minutes) is bit of a dampener. Vijay and his technical team have done a brilliant job and his lead actors Arya and Amy Jackson are extraordinary.(more)

Worth a watch

Director Vijay's eye for detail exemplifies the diligence that has gone into the making of Madrasapattinam. Narration slows down slightly midway but the sincerity of the production overrules such flaws. Vijay's dialogue has quite a few thought-provoking lines. Costume or casting, cinematography or CG, sets or stunts, director Vijay has gone in for a crew that delivers. Music is another major plus of MP. Come on folks, Madrasapattinam beckons! (more)

Cheers to Madrasapattinam team!
Arya really rocks in Madrasapattinam in all facets of true heroism. English actress Amy Jackson is a gift to Tamil cinema with her angelic looks and charm. The background score and music gel with the mood of the film. The first half is racy, but the second half drags a bit. All in all, with a brilliant crew consisting of talents from India and abroad, Madrasapattinam transcends the language boundaries and takes Tamil cinema to the world arena! Cheers to Madrasapattinam team!(more)
