POOKIE Review- Horrendously made amateurish and regressive rom-com!

There is a lyric phrase in the film that goes like, Pookie-kum pookie-kum sandai, sandai la odaiyudhu mandai. The pookies are the two lead characters in the movie and we, the viewers, end up breaking our heads while watching their nonsense.(more)

Pookie Movie Review: A Gen-Z checklist without a beating heart

When the understanding of modern romance itself is so biased and bigoted, it is needless to say how the breakups have been portrayed. While the decision to forgo overt cheesiness is mildly welcome, the alternative offered is hardly an improvement. Linearity is the only thing that works in favour of ...(more)

Pookie movie review: Ajay Dhishan and Dhanusha's rom-com is all about trendy ideas and thin characters

Ajay Dhishan stays true to his character and confidently carries his role in a film that attempts to prioritise style over substance. Pookie Movie Review: A Fresh, Heartfelt Take on Modern Love and Messy Breakups

RK Dhanusha matches Dhishan scene for scene with a performance that balances vulnerability and strength beautifully. Her Aazhi isnt just reacting to Kailashs actionsshes a fully realized character with her own journey, her own mistakes, her own path to understanding what she truly needs.(more)

A Light Urban Love Story That Mirrors Gen- Z Relationships - Pookie Movie Review

Overall, "Pookie" presents a simple and relatable take on modern romance, focusing more on mood and moments than on a deeply layered storyline. Technically, the film benefits from clean visuals and a contemporary presentation that suits its urban setting.(more)

Pookie Movie Review: Relatable set pieces hold a thin thread together

The problem is what sits between the vignettes: not much. Pookie plays like a well-curated collection rather than a story that accumulates weight. You're entertained in the moment and thats about it. There's also the relentless trendiness. Bro this, boomer that, Instagram references piled on like h...(more)
