Hrithik Roshan, Jr NTR take a world tour, story stays home

The entire world of 'War 2' feels hurried - a film green-lit simply because the Spy Universe needed its next chapter, definitely not because anyone had a story worth telling. Honestly, the film just ends up making the whole YRF spy world look less like an event and more like a noisy, expensive bubble that is ready to be burst.(more)

Hrithik Roshan And Jr NTR Fight For India On World Tour In Sholay Lite

Any war is about choice. Decisions are made, sides are chosen. Films are also about choice. Wish War 2 makers had thought long and hard about what they want to say and why. Hrithik Roshan and Junior NTR lose the war to a tedious sequel

War 2 showed promise, not as a coherent story, but at least dumbed-down, cheerful fun when it began. But just like Tiger 3, it began to take itself way too seriously when all it needed to do was guffaw at its silliness. Some endless conversations and combats barely serve any purpose. The sheer disappointment of the enterprise fails its two competent leading men, that have shone in masala stories before. And War 2 is not the end, we have more films in the spy universe coming in. One happens to be Alpha and then whatnot. Shah Rukh Khan once rightly said in an interview, only the dead have seen the end of War.(more)

Hrithik Roshan and NTR Jr battle it out to keep this bloated sequel afloat

Hrithik tries to be a brooding Bond, but the writing doesnt give him enough emotional heft to translate his elasticity on the dance floor into the characters spine. He has been consistently eye-catching, but there is more to him than his larger-than-life persona, which needs to be tapped. In a short screen time, veteran Anil Kapoor shows how to look menacing and sound meaningful with hollow words.(more)

The actioner has a licence to thrill but struggles to keep the momentum

War 2 offers high-octane moments, striking visuals, and polished production to make for a passable big-screen experience. Strictly watchable only if youre in it purely for the action and spectacle.(more)
