Watch it for the excitement.
Saroja is certainly different from the run of the mill movies and the attempt should be appreciated. The dialogues are youthful and well conceived. Technically, Saroja is a movie that gives a lot of scope for the cinematographer. The songs have been tailor made for the youth and are bound to be enjoyed. But the movie on the whole belongs to the director who has taken a one line plot and maintained the element of suspense till the very end. (more)

Laughs and thrills.
Venkat Prabhu turns up trumps for the second time in ‘Saroja’. A thorough entertainer, at times ‘Saroja’ also brings you to the edge of the seat. At no point does ‘Saroja’ sag. Two technicians lift ‘Saroja’ to the elevated plane it deserves – writer-director Venkat Prabhu and composer Yuvan Shankar Raja. (more)

Saroja rocks!
This movie manages to be an almost perfect mix of friendship, banter, suspense, thrills, action and a logical screenplay triumphing on top of everything else. But the star, clearly, is Venkat Prabhu who walks away with honors for an honest, simple and intelligent screenplay and writing that pulls you in and keeps you in your seat right until the end. At no point does it get incomprehensible, or patronizing. And the twists are interesting. (more)

Fun and Adventure.
Saroja is an interesting adventure and a fun flick. On the acting front, all have played their parts well. Another big highlight is Yuvan Shankar Raja’s music. The background score and the songs throb with energy. Director Venkat Prabhu has done quite a commendable job once again. He has managed to make a movie that combines action with comedy, without diluting the seriousness of the plot. (more)

Fresh, funky and cool. Bravo, Venkat Prabhu.
Saroja is a path-breaking film in Kollywood commercial film circuit asserting that Venkat is the writer-director to watch out for- one to be admired and concerned about. It is undoubtedly new millennium cinema. From the characters, to the plot, to the look and feel, there is something new about it. The screenplay is minty cool from a wafer thin story with loopholes, but the way it is packaged and unfolds on screen is pure magic. (more)
