Ismath Banu is wonderful in this middling film about societal pressure

Veppam Kulir Mazhai could have been a more inspiring movie if the makers had handled the issue with a little more sensitivity and practicality. The film works well as long as it focuses on the societal pressure faced by Petthaperumal and Paandi. But the culmination of their track deserves to be better than what has been shown. The film could have shed a little more light on the trauma that Paandi goes through as well. She has to suppress her emotions to console him.(more)
