A Tiresome Experience in the name of Sequel!

There was a potential in the script to be enthusiastic, but resulting in tedious boredom. The lack of freshness in the treatment and cheap thought-process to whitewash the viewers by replicating the prequel deteriorates it further.(more)

This chaotic sequel loses itself in a crime of randomness

There is a lot thats done with the cinematography. For instance, in one shot, you see a politician's eyes literally burning with fire. And in another, while Shiva walks into a red-tinted garage, he glows in green shades, hinting at his innocence. It serves as an aesthetic distraction that makes the frames interesting even when a few sequences feel dragged out. The film starts as a prequel and then proceeds to become a sequel. Likewise, it offers a mix of political satire, crime comedy, and serious drama. With too many such elements combined, it becomes a crazy ride that is random and chaotic.(more)

Shiva's irreverence cannot save this insipid comedy

Theres none of that in Soodhu Kavvum 2. There are more sequels in the works in Tamil cinema, we hear. We are not waiting.(more)
