Watchable Entertainer!
A rural flick that carries a sincerely written storyline with humour working out to an extent. Certain comedy stretches click and some dont, thankfully the situations are coherently linked.(more)

A one-time watch that's sure to be entertaining for some and offensive for others
The way the past and the present blend together in the film is actually intriguing. Quite naturally, Vadakkupatti Ramasamy is a full-on theatrical film made for the general audience to laugh, cry, and get frustrated during its more than two-hour runtime.(more)

Santhanam's silly comedy film fails to entertain
Setting aside the moral compass, Vadakkupatti Ramasamy offers sporadic laughs. Sadly, it doesnt last throughout, which fails to keep the audience engaged. Theres the whole Madras eye or Conjunctivitis angle, a couple trying to elope, and how the villagers innocence is taken for granted. While they offer laughs here and there, you end up getting a dj vu feeling while looking at the comedy sequences unfold on screen.(more)

Karthik Yogi's direction and writing contribute to the film's entertainment value, making it a must-watch for those seeking an enjoyable and light-hearted film. Santhanam returns with hilarious cons and clever storytelling in "Vadakkupatti Ramasamy," a feel-good comedy with a touch of depth(more)

Packed with enough laughs to make you forget the flaws
Every narrative thread feeds into another effectively enough to keep the momentum and you dont feel like the story is written around a couple of gags. The humour works for the most part and even the jokes that did not land are forgivable. Even with all the conspicuous flaws, even if the story doesnt compel you, Vadakkupatti Ramasamy still pulls you into its colourful world full of zany characters and leaves you with more than a handful of laughs.(more)
