If Exasperation Was A Genre Then Cocktail Would Be The Film To Beat!
Just one example for what this film assumes to be funny - a dialogue that uses secretary and coconut tree as rhyming words. Yogi Babu gets a Mersal Vijay like intro and maybe in a theatre this would have got a few cheers from less demanding fans. But watching it on OTT in silence and with no one passing comments when they are bored or frustrated makes it all the more difficult to sit through Cocktail.(more)

Cocktail' misses to engage in spite of Yogi Babu's quirky performance.
A much stronger climax reveal would have made us feel more connected to the film. There are also a few loose ends in the film, which the director had attempted to be a funny watch, but it ends up falling flat. Yogi Babu's timely dialogues here and there is what saves the movie from ending up as a disaster.(more)

Yogi Babu barely raises a laugh
The film�s director Ra Vijayamurugan neither has a feel for the material or even the craft of filmmaking, for that matter. We get scene after unfunny scene with no sense of comic timing, and everything goes by in a mumble of forgettable dialogues and barely enough acting. The writing neither makes us care for the characters nor leads to scenes with nail-biting suspense.(more)
