Three Cheers to Vikram, it goes without saying that he is the life and soul of Kasi. Kasi is the remake of the Malayalam film Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum,Pinne Njanum and director Vinayan who did the original has been faithful to his story. The supporting cast is brilliant. The melody numbers of Ilayaraja is another highlight of the film. (more)

Kudos to the team

A film without predictable ingredients is a rarity. The "Kaasi" team has to be appreciated for its boldness, in telling a story, in a simple, straight forward manner without the evitable distractions. Vikram's portrayal is without blemish. Vinayan, who has written the story and screenplay too, has tapped Vikram's potential well. The magic touch, in the music of the maestro (Ilaiyaraja) is missing in "Kaasi''. A neat film, that sags at times because melodrama is its marring factor. (more)
