The making of a slick thriller like this could have been more gripping as it lacks any sharp cuts or edge of the seat moments.
The making of a slick thriller like this could have been more gripping as it lacks any sharp cuts or edge of the seat moments. A topical subject watered down by lacklustre filmmaking
Mei is about finding the truth behind The Curious Case of A Missing Girl. But it's a weakly-scripted movie that doesn't quite take off. It does help that Nicky Sundaram has been cast as an Indian-American. Or else, how will you justify his distracting lip-sync? A watchable crime thriller
The film's protagonist Nicky is just okay, and he should improve on his body language and acting chops. But the good thing is that he has made his debut in a content-driven film and not a brainless entertainer. Technically, the film is passable for the budget while the dialogues by Sentha Muruguesan and his core story stand out. Overall, 'Mei' is a watchable thriller for the research work done by the young team, the strong supporting cast and the crisp run time(more)
