An Atrociously Lethargic Sports Film

Suseendran's Kennedy Club starring Sasikumar and BharathiRaja is a pointless, tiresome sports film that has zero efforts in its writing. (more)

Kennedy Club is a decent, but not effective attempt.

The film deals with gender disparity issues, north-south politics, etc, but those scenes required more depth in conveying effectively what was intended to convey. The antagonist character, Mukesh Sharma, (Murali Sharma) falls flat and is no way posing a big threat to the protagonist. Though the kabaddi scenes are decently shot, with some thrilling moments, the flow of sequences become too predictable. A couple of twists towards the end, too, seems forced. Kennedy Club is a decent, but not effective attempt.(more)

A predictable sports film which doesn't impress

Kennedy Club is an average sports drama. Yes, this film is comparatively better than Suseenthiran's recent outings but it's perfectly normal for the audiences to expect from a filmmaker of his caliber.(more)

A watchable sports drama for its honest attempt to showcase the struggles of Women's Kabaddi in Tamil Nadu.

The film has a balance in scenes involving Kabaddi and their lives. Both of them are shot in a racy way, which looks great for the Kabaddi scenes, but sticks out in the latter. Those scenes could have been a bit slower so that the essence of the region was captured even better. Here it seems like the film wants to rush to the Kabaddi portions that are quite engaging.(more)

There's no winner in this kabaddi outing

Kennedy Club is the kind of movie that bats for empowering women, and at the same time expects them to wear saris. It's the kind that asks girls to grow wings, but also says, "Do not cut your hair." BecauseTamizh kalacharam. It's also the kind that stereotypes other states. For instance, the Kerala team's coach wears sandalwood paste on his forehead, to show he's from...Kerala. Without that, will he look European?(more)

An average and uninspiring sports drama that has little to say

Kennedy Club lacks an effective storytelling. Also, the premise is dull and the tone is patronising. But I'm thankful that the film was devoid of sexual assault angle that repeatedly finds a place in most sports dramas including the latest, Dear Comrade.(more)

Cliched & Mediocre Execution Makes This Sports Drama A No Winner!

Kennedy Club could have been one more "must-watch" sports-based movies of Tamil Cinema if not for its clichs and disengaging screenplay at certain places. Can give this flick a skip.(more)
