Sushant Singh Rajput and Shraddha Kapoor film is no 3 Idiots

Chhichhore delivers an important message on exam pressure, quite literally, with Sushant enunciating the message in a speech just in case you didn't get it even after 2 hours of seeing the same. The film feels like a missed opportunity. Director Nitesh Tiwari had a subject that appealed to all generations, but he fails to create that magic that a memorable college drama should have had.(more)

Sushant Singh Rajput ages, Shraddha Kapoor does not in a hotch-potch with a 3 Idiots hangover

None of this is, however, enough to sustain Chhichhore. There are too many draggy patches in between, the acting is inconsistent, and the somewhat superficial messaging adds nothing to the "what matters is that you tried" line we have heard before.(more)

A Solid, Homegrown College Movie For The Ages

Chhichhore is a hoot, but its not flawless. Eventually though, it's Tiwari's understanding of mainstream emotional dynamics that tide the missteps over to frame an enjoyable film.(more)

High on friendship

'Chhichhore' has a relevant message on the inherent attitude towards academic success and failure that will connect with many youngsters and parents of today. It tells you that the journey is far more important than the destination and that losing is as critical a life lesson as winning. The film scores high on many accounts and is certainly worth watching.(more)

Chhichhore offers too good a time to pay attention to its faults.

The outcome may be predictable but that's exactly the Chhichhore philosophy -- savour the journey and not worry about getting anywhere. (more)

Noble thoughts, trite humour

Chhichhore can either be enjoyed as a regurgitation of jokes, stories and characters (much like how we repeat our college stories for the hundredth time at a party) or demand to be surprised, even in the realm of nostalgia. I vote for the latter.(more)
