An Unsettling Thriller Where The Intent To Shock Overrides Emotional Connect!

A gripping thriller that is certainly an experience to behold. But not Mysskin's best in creating endearing characters.(more)

Fabulous performances, Music & Mysskin's control over the craft makes Psycho a brilliantly made psychological thriller.

The women in the film swear at will, there is nudity shown on screen, and there's a lot of blood splattering all around. If you're someone who is averse to blood or violence in general, it is not advisable to watch this. With Psycho, Mysskin proves that he is in fine form, and gives us a fantastic cinematic experience.(more)

Not a regular serial killer film

As for Gautham, we never really get to see what he feels towards the man who has kidnapped the love of his life, and when he acts kindly towards him, it becomes difficult for us to but his actions. And the final scenes are somewhat rushed, so we do not feel the intensity of Anguli's repentance. You expect an emotional punch in the gut, as in Pissasu, but only get something feeble.(more)

Not an easy watch!

The first half is fairly engaging and thrilling. But the second half turns too predictable, convoluted, silly and illogical. (more)

Mysskin's film succeeds in humanizing a serial killer

Psycho isn't as emotional as Mysskin's best work Pisasu, but it sure works as a cracker of a serial killer thriller that doesn't hold back when it comes it depiction of blood and gore. It stays true to the genre and achieves a lot more than most films in this space.(more)

A fascinating game of shadows

Anyone who commits crime against humanity in the form of 'honour killing' 'mob lynching' and so on are psychopaths, she argues. But what about people and circumstances that push emotionally-distraught people into becoming serial killers, if you look at it from a holistic view? Arent they equally accountable? Aren't they all psychos?(more)

An insightful film that's not profoundly moving

Psycho, starring Udhayanidhi Stalin, Nithya Menen and Aditi Rao Hydari, is part psychological thriller, part social commentary.(more)

Mysskin's ode to Alfred Hitchcock is a compelling thriller, despite its shortcomings

There are some problems with the last act, which is far-fetched, but overall Psycho is a compelling and suspenseful film.(more)
