Laugh riot.
Shankar the producer and Simbudevan deserves a pat on their back to cast Vadivelu the most solid comedian of Tamil cinema in the main lead of this mad laugh riot. Simbudevan has succeeded to a very large extent in making the audience laugh with dialogue oriented comedy and not falling back on slapstick variety. On the downside the dialogues are in chaste Tamil and too many songs mar the tempo especially post interval. (more)

Fantastic in its own rights
What makes the movie tick is the combination of cleaver direction, terrific story narration, and out-of-the box story line sprinkled with comedy, action, adventure and deceit. The ace director Shankar, who is the producer of this film, must be duly credited for giving an opportunity to Simbudevan's team to bring out this unusual hilarious fable. The film is fantastic in its own rights.(more)

King of comedies.
Vadivelu, the prime mover of the movie, makes it all work. Director Simbu Devan, even while making it full of fun, has used his intelligence to lace it with biting satire on many contemporary events. Simbu Devan needs to be congratulated for thinking out of the box and at the same time director Shankar needs to be patted for giving an opportunity to Simbu Devan to prove his skills.(more)
