he political scenes are the film's strengths; in fact, its only strengths. The emotional drama between the characters is quite weak.

If NOTA works to the extent it does, it is because it unfolds like the highlights reel of the absurd political happenings that Tamil Nadu has been witnessing over the past two to three years(more)

Vijay Devarakonda is a rowdy politician in this topical drama

This sort of grey character has been played by Vijay Deverakonda successfully before, but this time Varun falls short. Especially considering how he doesn't take the bull by its horns. How he deals with the corrupt yogi would have been a better premise to prove Varun's capability as a CM rather than tackling natural disasters, which only serve to emotionally manipulate audiences.(more)

Vijay Deverakonda's 'NOTA' is a watchable political thriller. More focus on the political factors could have made the film intense.

Anand Shankar has chosen to show us a very bold political film with a young CM as his lead character, but if he had focussed to continue more with that, it would have certainly been a better experience and intense. The film loses its momentum towards the end and a more focused approach was needed(more)

Vijay Devarakonda is riveting in a political drama devoid of commercial trappings

The film belongs to Vijay Devarakonda who has given a riveting performance. He is there in almost all frames and along with Nasser and Sathyaraj, the young superstar holds the film together. NOTA, by and large, is enjoyable, racy and relevant to its time.(more)
