The writer-director, Selvashekaran, spends the entire first half on a set-up that could have been condensed into an effective flashback portion.

That Susienthiran, who made the original film, which was a refreshing sports drama at the time of its release, should be involved in such an underwhelming project (he is credited for the core story) that hardly does justice to the characters of his film, is a pity.(more)

Tedious watch

The main problem with Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu 2 is that the filmmaking looks old and is not in sync with the current trend.
