Three cheers to Osthi team.

An honest remake, Osthi is entertaining if you forget all logic and go inside cinema-hall for sheer joy, fun and entertainment. Dharani and STR have pulled it off in style. Dharani's dialogues are crisp and Nellai Tamil fits the story well. Dharani has ensured that its racy commercial all through with no compromise. (more)

Osthe lacks the magic that made Dabangg work.

Osthe may aim to deliver an exaggerated masala mix -- but that works only when subtlety also forms a part of the narrative. And there's definitely nothing even remotely subtle about this film. Films like these aren't really rare, here: every alternate movie is about superheroes that romance pretty girls and take on a hundred goons at once; they always win, always yell punch dialogues, respect their parents and live happily ever after. Entertains

Thaman’s much publicized Kalasala although energetic lacks the fizz of Munni badnam hui and Mallika Sherawat disappoints. The pacing of Osthie is uniform and it manages to grab the attention of the audience for most parts. Toting up, the ‘must have’s of a mainstream commercial potboiler are all dutifully ticked in Osthie which will find patrons in those who would love to spend some two and half hours of their time relaxing on a well made entertainer.(more)

Time-Pass Entertainer

The mix is perfect for commercial mass masala. It is a full Thali meal - a star, super action scenes, romance, dances, punchlines, comedy, lot of sentiments and finally good triumphing over evil. Osthi is another time pass entertainer, a smart action movie that's well worth your time. (more)

Osthi is no serious film, but one that may end up entertaining you.

The movie is certainly not for those who try to find logic in cinema. It is free-flowing, devoid of any sense. Dharani has ensured that if a movie is laced with mass elements at quick succession, half the battle is won. Thankfully Simbu translates his dreams well on screen.(more)

Osthe is an upgraded version of masala movies of 70s and 80s era.

Osthe has all the successful ingredients to keep you glued till the end. Simbu's energetic performance and the mass-masala story are enough to keep you entertained all through. The movie is loud, zany, larger-than-life but nonsensical. Nonetheless, entertainment is guaranteed.(more)

Osthe-Commercial Cop

Dharani has made it a commercial fare. The filmmaker has struck to the original without changing the content much. With STR's strong presence and Dharani lacing it up with masala elements in right mix, 'Osthi' ends up as an entertainer, though sounds cliched at many places. (more)

Middling in parts.

On the whole, Osthe has a very hackneyed story and the narration is very much predictable in parts.(more)

Osthe- A Snooze Fest

Take away more points from glamour and there's very little left in Osthi. The funniest part of both movies was the ending- where the villain is forced to fellate the exhaust pipe of a tractor.(more)

Osthe-Quite Masthi

Osthi is not a Perarasu film but is a brand Dharani despite all the goofs and spoofs. Santhanam too is usual and why do we have to talk about technical aspects like Cinematography and Editing in such a film. The frame is well lit and rich. The characters are replete on the frame with good faces. There is enough stuffing of humor, action, masala and glamour. There is a deadly villain but not as much as the invincible hero. There is enough family sentiment and so Osthe entertains. Osthi – Jabardasthi! (more)
