Get spooked by a ghostly affair!

More in the genre of a comic-horror flick, ‘Kanchana’ may fall short on finesse and style. But it is much better scripted and executed than ‘Muni’, and is likely to go well with the masses.(more)

Kanchana - Fearful fare

Music by Thaman is average. Some times doesn't sync with the story. 'Kanchana', produced by Sri Thenandal Films, on the whole is an attempt that is well begun but half done. (more)

Average

Both Lawrence and Sarath Kumar have done a good job in the film. Kovai Sarala, Devadarshini and Sriman add to the fun factor. Lakshmi Rai has taken care of the glam quotient. None of the songs in the film make the cut, save the last one. One can only say Thaman’s talent has been wasted. The movie has its share of thrills and laughs. On the whole, Kanchana is an entertaining affair and can be watched once.(more)

Kanchana is not a must watch flick

Kanchana is both uninspired and uninspiring, yet Raghava Lawrence wants to make one sequel after another. Kanchana is watch-able, but that doesn't mean it is worth a watch. Skip it and you miss nothing. (more)

Verdict: Spooks without offending the senses – engaging watch!

Overall, Kanchana is a ride of spooks and chills, interspersed with moments of fun and dance. The good thing is that the spooks and chills have not been provided just for the heck of it; they look convincing and have an effect on the viewer. It may not be a classy piece of cinema, but it does manage to engage a viewer who is willing to give himself in to the central concept of the supernatural.(more)
