Venghai is tedious
Hari does have a knack for conveying sentiment and emotion in his stories, but it is so overlaid with unnecessary bloodshed, repetitive action and predictable plot twists, that after a point you lose interest. Venghai is an overdose of rural action. (more)

Final Word – Producers can keep their fingers crossed for the film will gain them good collections and if award jury members plan to have introduce a new category ‘Best Director for making Producers Happy’, obviously, it’s gonna be Hari. (more)

Hari, who has an enviable track record because of movies such as 'Saamy', 'Vel' and 'Singam', fails in coming up with a gripping screenplay this time. And naming his movies after predators belonging to the cat family (his previous film was the 2010 mega hit 'Singam') doesn't help him this time as 'Venghai' (which means leopard) lacks the speed or the finesse or the exceptional abilities of the carnivore. If this 'Venghai' succeeds in killing you, it is only because of boredom.(more)

Another racy entertainer from director Hari with the same old formula!
Director Hari, who is known for his racy screenplays and power packed action sequences, is back in K town with Venghai (which means Lion). For the first time, Hari is teaming up with National award winning actor Dhanush. Pretty lass Tamannaah plays the female lead. The film is produced by B.
