After the massive success of ‘Singham’, director Hari’s ‘Vengai’, keeps you engaged for the most part with its unpretentious and racy storyline.

Though the film may not have touched the entertainment-level of the director’s earlier ‘Singham’, with unpretentious and racy scenes, ‘Venghai’ keeps you engaged for the most part.(more)

Venghai is tedious

Hari does have a knack for conveying sentiment and emotion in his stories, but it is so overlaid with unnecessary bloodshed, repetitive action and predictable plot twists, that after a point you lose interest. Venghai is an overdose of rural action. (more)

Watch ‘Vengai’ with your family and it’s the best entertainment for this day worth spending money on.

Final Word – Producers can keep their fingers crossed for the film will gain them good collections and if award jury members plan to have introduce a new category ‘Best Director for making Producers Happy’, obviously, it’s gonna be Hari. (more)

Hari, who has an enviable track record because of movies such as 'Saamy', 'Vel' and 'Singam', fails in coming up with a gripping screenplay this time. And naming his movies after predators belonging to the cat family (his previous film was the 2010 mega hit 'Singam') doesn't help him this time as 'Venghai' (which means leopard) lacks the speed or the finesse or the exceptional abilities of the carnivore. Venghai - A Dejavu ride

Another racy entertainer from director Hari with the same old formula!

Director Hari, who is known for his racy screenplays and power packed action sequences, is back in K town with Venghai (which means Lion). For the first time, Hari is teaming up with National award winning actor Dhanush. Pretty lass Tamannaah plays the female lead. The film is produced by B. Bharathi Reddy under Vijaya Productions banner. Apart from wielding the megaphone, Hari has also penned the story and screenplay of Venghai.(more)

Venghai is not a patch on Vikram'sSami, Suriya'sSingamor even Sarathkumar'sAyya.

A man, whom the people of his village worship and others wish to kill, an MLA, who can be obsequious and murderous at once, a heroine, who is simple and scheming (of course, she has a reason) and the yarn of love, affection and knavery spun around them.(more)

Another Hari film that engages mildly

To sum it all, Venghai is another Hari film with his usual ingredients but sans his usual spirit and this film might work for people who seek action entertainers set in villages. (more)
