Nibunan Movie Review

The way the team arrives at conclusions, solves the mystery and interprets the clues left by the murderer are sure to engage viewers who are fans of thriller genre, though the motive behind the assassination isn't anything new. But watch it for the suspense-filled plot which has decent family moments, the surprise killer and the way the team uncovers the mystery through mind games.(more)

Nibunan is indeed worth your money and time for it retains the suspense element for a predominant part, there are a lot of interesting ideas and of course Arjun.

We have seen Arjun as a cop in many films but Ranjith of 'Nibunan' is entirely different from what he has played so far. This cop is not only smart, intelligent, playful, brave and effective. He is also matured with age and experience. Arjun displays a fantastic understanding of this multi-layered character. There are scenes that require him to behave matured for his age and in others he should be as effective as a young and fresh officer. The highly experienced actor has shouldered this challenge quite impressively. The actor and the character supplement and complement each other and end up benefiting the film. (more)

Arjun Sarja's 150th movie doesn't surprise you for good, or worse

The movie progresses at a considerable pace, only mildly hampered by the romance between Kalidas and Shilpa (Shruthi Hariharan). The cinematography, while plays mildly with colours, is fairly straightforward. Nibunan feels like the middle bencher in school. It doesnt surprise you, for good or for worse.(more)

Mild thrills aside, this Arjun film is mostly predictable

Nibunan is Action King Arjun's 150th film and it's a relief to watch him to play his age, even in overtly sophisticated look throughout the film. He doesnt go around beating bad guys to pulp, but plays his part well and shows he could still impress without kicking butts. Prasanna plays one of Arjuns team members and he gives the story some comical touch. While some of the jokes work, its tough to imagine them laughing and joking around when a serial killer is on the prowl. Agreed, certain cinematic liberties are allowed but a more serious setting, in my opinion, would have worked in the favour of the film.(more)

A Watchable whodunit thriller

One major positive aspect of Nibunan is the characterization of Arjun, as the director has nicely explored the family and friendship side of the cop. Scenes with Sruti Hariharan are a bit overboard but the Parkinson's disease angle is an interesting idea. However, Arun could've worked better in scenes where Arjun and subordinates solve the murder mystery, as things look easy and convenient for them.(more)

Nibunan is a grippingly packed action entertainer that has its share of flaws and cliches.

Arjun's performance and the screenplay make Nibunan a good enough engaging crime thriller, despite the overused narrative pattern.(more)
