Good, bad, average
Yaaradi Nee Mohini (U), remade from Telugu, has gloss and glamor, sheen and sophistication as represented by its heroine Nayantara. Looking chic and expressive, she’s Mohini indeed! And playing an apt foil is Dhanush. He displays sobriety, sentiment and sadness, with elan. Director Mithran Jawahar could have worked more with the screenplay writer on the consistency aspect. Enjoy
The film works big time due to perfect casting. It is an omnibus entertainer where all the nine “Rasas” to make us laugh, cry, enjoy our favorites dancing to hit music. Yuvan Shankar Raja’s background score and music is pleasing. On the downside, the film is too long especially the second half. On the whole, the likeable leads and Raghuvaran's performance make it enjoyable. It’s well packaged and great fun. (more)

Yes, it's the same old story with the same old characters and emotions. But it's a fun-filled and fairly realistic screenplay, which makes the treatment fresh and tempting. For Dhanush, it's a tailor-made role. Yuvan Shankar Raja's music is definitely of the feet-tapping variety. Here's some good, laugh-inducing romantic fare for you, if you're in the mood for something funny, something cool.(more)
