Another commercial venture, so typically Vijay.

For Vijay's diehard fans 'Sivakasi' is a typical treat. The larger-than-life image, excellent agility in dance and stunts, and histrionics help Vijay score with the ease of a veteran. As always, Asin looks gorgeous and makes best use of the opportunity offered. Prakashraj is at home in his role. With an immense dose of the Vijay brand of family sentiment and action, 'Sivakasi' should cruise through with ease. (more)

Satisfaction guaranteed.

Sivakasi works due to Vijay-THE SUPERSTAR. He takes the cake, cream and cherry and plays to the gallery with abandon and underlines his over-the-top character with an infectious sense of fun. The Vijay-Asin comic encounters add to the fun and they have a great on-screen chemistry. Sekhar.V.Joseph, the cameraman has established himself with this film. G.K's artwork is lifelike and Srikanth Deva's dapankoothu songs are just correct for the mood of the film. (more)

Have a blast.

Sivakasi is one among the long line of formulaic masala mass entertainers that Vijay is now known to dish out. Vijay does all that is expected of him. Asin gives him good company. Prakash Raj does his typical stuff. Sunny V Jospeh's camera work is easy and pleasing. Srikanth Deva's music comes with the territory. The kuthu songs bring the house down. Perarusu, who has also penned the dialogues, has delivered what he has been asked to. (more)
