Terrific premise, average movie

Mupparimanam has an extremely interesting tale to tell. It works to an extent at a superficial level. But as a cinematic experience it is only an average outing. (more)

Banking on One unexpected twist. Go for it if you fancy Shruste Dange and a fairly emotional climax.

Writer-director Athiroopan with a strong twist in his script could have done a lot better in characterization and innovative screenwriting. The love track between the leads itself lacks depth and does not allow the audience to care too much for what happens to them. Shantanu turning to drugs and his depressed behavior is not at all justified. The good part of the film comes too late and loses its value as everyone are tired with boredom by then.(more)

On the whole, director Adhiroopan definitely has what it takes to make an engaging thriller film with well-written family based emotional scenes, but he has given a lot of importance to commercial aspects like love, songs, and comedy which dilutes the impact that could have been created. Also, with the majority twists kept for the last few minutes, a finish with a bang is lacking and leaves the audiences with a half baked cake(more)

The film starts in a thrilling manner but fizzles out soon

Though the film starts in a thrilling manner, it fizzles out and drags once the romantic portions open up. The second half is relatively well written with twists and turns. The love track between the lead pair lacks depth and hence Shanthanu taking to drugs is not really convincing. A bit of intelligent writing would have helped.(more)
