Synopsis/Plot : Thangaraj (Nassar) is the eldest brother and he has two younger brothers : `Boxer' Krishnan (Vadivelu) and Sivaraman (Karan). Thangaraj is married to Meenakshi (Kushboo) and they have a teenage daughter Padma (Kavitha) while 'Boxer' Krishnan married to Kanagavalli (Kovai Sarala) and they have four little children. They all live together in the house of Veerapandi (Thyagu) whose only son Dhandapani (Vivek) is in love with Thangaraj's daughter Padma. Without any work, 'Boxer' Krishnan tries his hand in politics and there too he fails. In the past, Thangaraj and his wife Meenakshi worked hard to educate Sivaraman and Sivaraman becomes a successful general manager in a factory. The owner of the factory Valluvardasan (Vijayakumar) seeing the hard work and efficiency of Sivaraman, proposes to get his daughter Thamizhselvi (Roja) married to him. Thangaraj and Meenakshi decide to prepare the marriage of Dhandapani and Padma but they have to finance a huge amount of money. Sivaraman doesn't want to give them the amount, the joint family splits up. What transpires later forms the crux of the story.
