A decent flick that could crack you up
The first half of the film is lively and fairly entertaining, but the core concept gets diluted a little towards the later part of the second half and gets stranded at a particular point before taking the center again soon later. The screenplay could have been a little tighter, especially in the second half. (more)

A mildly entertaining take on the making of a movie
With a topic so wacky, there should be a certain deftness in direction to elevate what�s on paper. For instance, there�s an ambitious portion about how a particular scene looks better in the presence of an able actor in comparison to the producer�s daughter. With the same bit of wackiness pouring into direction, it could have been an incredibly powerful scene. Instead, we just have bunch of dialogues telling us it was powerful even though we don�t really see why.(more)

A fun ride
Despite the above said similarities and predictable storyline, Uppu Karuvadu is actually a clean comedy entertainer with interesting characters and the whimsical performances of all the actors. It�s not a cakewalk for directors to evoke laughter with each and every dialogue, but Radha Mohan has pulled it off in style with the help of his witty dialogue writer. (more)

Dialogues Save The Day!
With an ordinary storyline, Uppu Karuvaadu cries for an engaging screenplay, but unfortunately that's not what you experience in this flick. Screenplay, both in the first as well as second half, is just too slow for one's liking. Comedy has worked in parts, largely because of the dialogues. (more)
