Synopsis/Plot : Masaan tells the story of four characters living on the banks of the Ganges in Varanasi. Jhonta, a young orphan is looking for a family while Deepak, young low-caste man, fell in love with a young daughter highest condition. For its part, Devi is destabilized by the feeling of guilt that goes from the death of his lover while his father, a former teacher, also suffers the consequence of this death. Their lives eventually intersect.
Masaan, an Indo-French collaboration that won accolades at Cannes earlier on in May, has adept story-telling by Neeraj Ghaywan, a Anurag Kashyap alumni.
