An easy-watch comedy

Moone Moonu Varthai is a talky comedy, and it would have fallen apart with the wrong actors. Madhumita's strength is her cast especially Venkatesh Harinathan, who's a superb ham. Just watch him belt out the title song of Padayappa. But he also aces a number of bittersweet moments. One of them involves a girl he's fallen for. She rejects him. The scene makes us squirm a bit - we've gotten so used to laughing at (and with) Karna that were not sure how to respond to a situation thats threatening to turn somewhat serious.(more)

Moone Moonu Varthai is a below average comic movie which occasionally evokes laughter !

What happens when a movie is filled with non-stop dialogues and there is not even a moment of silence? Well, director Madhumitha's Moone Moonu Varthai at times becomes unbearable due to constant chatter with so-called comic dialogues that fall flat. (more)

'Moone Moonu Varthai' is a movie that you can give a miss

The film never takes off and all the twists come at inappropriate times and thereby lose their effectiveness. With a woman at the helm, it is shocking to see alcohol as an integral part of every scene in the film. All we can say to Madhumitha is better luck next time.(more)

An attempt at evoking fun, which isn't consistent throughout.

The problem with MMV is, it is neither here nor there. Sometimes, it gives a serious feel while some other times, there is flippancy. It is a little difficult to assimilate the business idea of Arjun and Venkatesh however much you tell yourself that it is a lighthearted film and that there is nothing to be taken seriously. (more)
