Influence of corruption

To put it in a gist, screenplay is racy. There is hardly a dull moment in the pivotal story. Despite involvement of many characters, the ones that are prominent, are established clearly. The story is neat and runs smoothly, supported by befitting dialogues; however, there are also portions that come out predictably and places where dialogues are stereotypical.(more)

Avoidable

Wonder what made the director to choose such an uninteresting story-line with pedestrian sensibilities? Forget the story-line, as most of our films don't have one but what makes it worse is there are no proper dialogues, screenplay, acting and all we see is array of scenes with dramatic dialogues, skin show and loud background altogether making it a damp squib.(more)

Katham Katham is a total waste of time

Directed by debutant director Babu Thooyavan, Katham Katham is a long, boring and dramatized tale of two cops and their fight against corruption. While Pandya (Natarajan) is a callous, merry-making womanizer, Nandha (Nandha of Mounam Pesiyadhe fame) is the opposite. He is an honest and dedicated police officer, who places his duty above all else. (more)

Movie Review

This is pucca masala material and Babu Thooyavan does a fairly good job with it until the interval point. And, Natraj, playing the role of an opportunist who reforms (something he did in his previous film Sathuranka Vettai as well), puts on a no-holds-barred performance (replete with Rajini mannerisms and double entendre dialogues) that complements Nandha's tightly wound-up act. But the film fails to pick up steam after Pandian's reformation.(more)

Negative attracts

Director Babu Thooyavan, however, wants us to believe that Nandha (Nandha), the sub inspector, is the protagonist. He is upright, has been transferred 15 times in three months, and gets to mouth lines like, Police aagardhu ennoda thavam. Dont be fooled though because Pandian is the real protagonist. Hes the one who keeps the film moving and us entertained. (more)
