Director Vishnuvardhan seems to have been in a dilemma as to whether to focus on Ajith or give the film well-etched characters. There are too many diversions. Yuvan Shankar Raja's tunes and music are pulsating. Ajith has tried his best. (more)

Racy & Rocking.

Vishnu’s Billa is the first designer-look Kollywood film with classy action cuts. It's a technically chic, racy, engrossing entertainer with a Hollywood look. Yuvan’s title track and theme music is one of the highlights of the film, though the songs fall flat! Nirav Shah’s camera work is brilliant displaying an array of flourishes- freeze frames, optical dissolves, color saturated images, giving a static energy to the frames. Billa is an out and out Ajit film. (more)

Masala entertainment redefined.

Vishnu doesn’t waste too much time or dialogues on character building. He seems to have depended more on rapid cuts to make the screen play tighter and taut. The two biggest pillars of support for him come from costume department and cinematography section. Nirav Shah, the cinematographer’s work is of superlative nature and the result is an absolute visual delight. Seamless editing adds to the flow of the film.(more)

Stylish adaptation.

It looks awesome in terms of production values and cinematography. The performances and stylish looks make the movie a winner on its own merit. Nayantara's amazing looks are definitely one of the attractive elements of the movie. Ajith looks handsome and brings in some intensity to the character. (more)
