The screenplay is extremely interesting. The second half especially is extremely gripping. Poriyaalan has an extremely strong basement in the form of story and screenplay. It is the building that does not reach the heights that it should have. There are some genuine flashes of talent from the team behind Poriyaalan. Watch it for the story and screenplay
Thanukumar's choice of script is fresh and something new, for real estate scams have been in the town ever since the boom over 2000's and he has weaved a story quite amicably. Adding the required thrills and twists, makes the movie watchable enough on the main screen. (more)

The storytelling, after that flabby beginning, is superbly economic � Poriyaalan runs just about two hours. And this is possible because the film doesn't linger on the obvious. (more)

Saravanan starts a construction company with his friend Prabhu, who has put in money that belongs to his employer Sundar, a loan shark and a goonda.
Movie Review: Fed up with his unappreciative boss, Saravanan decides to start his own construction set-up but he can only get plots far out of the city in his budget. So, his friend Prabhu, who is employed with Sundar, a merciless loan shark, hits upon a seemingly great idea. With Sundar in jail, they will take his money without his knowledge for the time being and replace it before the boss comes out of prison. They get a nice site from Shahstri, a middleman, and complete the registration. But only then they learn that the site belongs to someone else and Shastri has made away with their money. (more)
