Vishal does score is the humour quotient which, even if forced, works a bit. And then there are the stunts which he does supremely well. This is one of the parts where Priyan's camera-work shines. Writer-director Saba Ayyappan who makes a bow with 'Thoranai' does give you a couple of pleasant surprises. Most of the characters in Thoranai are clichés.
