DamaalDumeel- Worth Your Time

Director Shree has made a film that capitalizes on it's strengths. The crisp running time of just less than 2 hours is such a welcome relief and the film wastes no time by avoiding redundant scenes. A few scenes look a bit staged. (more)

Damaal Dumeel, leaves you content a one time watch.

Director Shree's presence of mind in pushing in interesting inserts such as the visual split up of the address as and when Shayaji tells it, is a pleasing point out. Thaman's background scores score well at crucial areas, providing the movie that extra thrust as it moves uphill. (more)

Racy & Enjoyable

The film works due to its pace with a running time of 1 hour and 58 minutes, some smart writing and good music and BGM by SS Thaman. There are only 3 and half songs which are well woven into the plot, with Usha Uthup title song being the pick of the lot. The director has been able to pack in humour in tense situation and making it entertaining for the viewers.(more)

Neatly made comedy thriller

Damaal Dumeel is a neatly made comedy thriller. In spite of losing grip on screenplay at parts, the director has written an engaging flick. Notable point is that the film gives you an experience of watching Hollywood films. (more)

Damaal Dumeel is a worthy attempt.

we realize that we are in the hands of a competent filmmaker and Shree keeps things moving at a brisk pace till the end. Even the romantic track is used only in small doses and the director doesn't allow a possible melancholic moment to linger.(more)

A comedy of errors

An IT professional loses his job, miraculously finds a box full of money, kills four people by accident and gets himself caught in a comedy of errors. Damaal Dumeel begins on an ominous albeit intriguing note where a hooded man is seen dumping what looks like garbage bags into various buildings in the city. So, when a thumping song follows this scene, one is a little bit shocked. The song establishes that our protagonist Moneykandan (who has altered his name to suit the numerologists and astrologists he believes in) has life going for him a hep job, a girlfriend who is the perfect balance of sweet and sexy and a BFF who is nothing short of a shadow.(more)

amaal Dumeel is a reasonably good dark comedy

Close in the footsteps of dark comedies such as Soodhu Kavvum and Moodar Koodam, comes Damaal Dumeel, which unlike its contemporaries, may not be exceptional but still has what it takes to be applauded for the effort. The film is based on a series of accidents that pave the way to humour at regular intervals. Each of these accidents is interconnected and the film explains why one accident leads to another and another and so on until there's one last accident in the climax.(more)
