The story is not complicated and screenplay is written with a few flashbacks to keep the narration interesting. In fact, the story and situations in the second half is almost similar to 'Imsai Arasan' as it explores familiar political topics.Fitting the theme and title of the movie, the comedy lines are intelligent and will make you think.(more)

Thenaliraman is a complete family entertainer. It is a paisa-vasool film.

The first half of Thenaliraman is filled with loads of fun elements. His fans will blow whistles every now and then. The second half keeps you engaged and we could see Vadivelu performing both the roles at his best. But there are some boring moments in this half. (more)

Although the film has its premise dating to the monarchial times, the problems that people face in the kingdom are contemporary. Yuvaraj does not lose an opportunity to take a dig at the corrupted ministers who focus on swindling money and depriving people of the benefits due to them. (more)

The basic story of the film is applicable to modern times, as it is a fight between the exploited common man and the corrupt bureaucracy which has sold out to the rich and powerful.
