A futile mission.

Aegan proves to be a mind-numbing fare with the only sigh of relief coming between the intervals – the songs, of course. Yuvan's background score ebbs and flows, but the songs are largely passe. Ajith’s charm is irresistible, but sadly lost in the dud effort. You must thank the cinematographer Arjun Jena and the costume designer for maintaining the subtle tone of the movie without which you would come out of the movie hall with a splitting headache.(more)

Suspend disbelief and proceed!

Raju Sundaram, the first timer (as director) emerges reasonably unscathed because the screenplay has pace and you don't have much time to think about the logic or lack of it behind scenes. Comedy with Jayaram, VMC Haneefa, Sathyan and Ajith is a treat. The sound of Yuvan's music adds zing and youthfulness to Aegan. And if V.T.Vijayan's editing skills help make matters racy they also contribute to the abruptness of a few scenes. Cinematographer Arjun Jena's tones and lighting warrant special mention.(more)

Loaded with punch, but lacks crunch.

The onscreen chemistry shared by Ajith and Nayanthara is ok. But, half-a-dozen songs, a majority around the lead pair, puts brake on the movie's progress. Yuvan Shankar's music passes the muster. Cinematographer Arjun Jena captures the action moments in a neat way without straining the eyes.(more)

Watchable in parts.

Yuvan Shankar Raja has turned out a score that almost delivers 'Just Pass' on its report-cards; Milan's art direction is too colorful while the stunt directors, Stun Shiva and Lakshman have understood their work and set out to provide their full money's worth. Raju Sundaram has sacrificed the human drama, emotions and mild hilarity - trying, instead, to play up to Ajith's hero-status. It works a bit, as the star is certainly larger than life on screen. Entertainment in parts.

Leave your logical mind at home, and don’t ask doubts regarding story and plot line, because none exists! The music of Yuvan is ok. The camera of debutant Arjun Jena is eye-catching. Ajit is at his best but looks plump and stiff in some scenes where he need to be relaxed and natural. Nayanthara looks perfect, a role that fits her like a glove. Piaa is promising. Jayaram and Haneefa are a riot. (more)
