Worth a look for its racy narration.

The film basically works due to Jeevan's riveting con man act. U.K.Senthil Kumar's camera, Suresh Urs editing along with crisp dialogues are some of the high points in the film. On the downside, there are far too many songs by Vijay Antony which acts as a speed breaker to the racy narration. But nevertheless, it is good fun and will appeal to a broad spectrum of audiences. A peppy package.

Director Selva has mixed commercialism in the right proportion to the original recipe, presenting a racy entertainer for today's audiences. Jeevan has tactfully handled Naan Avan Illai. It would be unfair not to mention the swing in his style of dialogue delivery from one character to the other. Trendy tunes from Vijay Antony add to the joy. It is a peppy package on the whole. Selva is truly in for some gala celebrations! (more)

A glossy remake.

This movie has a lot going for it - fast-paced narrative, slick editing, apt casting and a plot that eschews candy floss formula. Inspired by K.Balachander's 1970s original, the remake is a high gloss product. Selva's screenplay is engrossing. Though sequences are knit cohesively, there are hiccups in the narrative. This is a dream role and a major step forward for Jeevan. The actor cashes in by doing a neat job. (more)
