The buzz around Shankar's film is always very high. With the director getting ready to take off his next mega project with Vikram playing the lead, the big question was the lucky actor who will play the female lead. After many speculations of Priyanka Chopra or Asin being considered for the role, finally its Samantha who has landed a plum role in Shankar's next film. 

Samantha is on a roll with quite a number of films in her kitty this year in both Kollywood and Tollywood. She is currently working with Jiiva for Gautham's 'NEP' and also with Mani Ratnam for 'Kadal'. She is eagerly awaiting the release of 'Eega' (Tamil 'Naan Ee') directed by S.S. Chandramouli of Magadheera fame. 

A. R. Rahman will score the music and cinematography will be handled by P.C. Sreeram. The film is expected to go on floors by the end of June. 

Vishal has joined hands with Sundar C for a film titled 'Madha Gaja Raja'. The film went on floors recently and Karthika was to play the lead. The latest we hear is Karthika has opted out of the film as the film's script was revised giving her less scope to perform and her character was more to add zing to the film as a glam doll. 

The new script will have two heroines and the hunt for the female leads in on. Buzz is Sarath Kumar's daughter Varalakshmi who made her debut in 'Poda Podi' is likely to bag the role. Also Taapsee Pannu has also been approached for Karthika's role. There is no confirmation yet on who has finally bagged the role.
