STR was recently in Hong Kong to complete a song shoot in Disneyland. The shooting of Poda Podi which has been in production for a long time has been wrapped except for a song shoot and few patchworks. Directed by debutant Vignesh Siva the film has Simbu, Sarath Kumar's daughter Varalakshmi playing the lead roles. Simbu's nephew Samarth is debuting as his son in Poda Podi. The film is gearing up for a release in June. The film has six songs. The music launch is expected soon and music director Dharan is working towards it.

Simbu will next start shooting for Vaalu for which he had recently done a photoshoot and teaser shoot. Hansika plays his love interest while Santhanam and VTV Ganesh add to the comic gags. Vaalu is slated for a Diwali release. The major shoot of Vettaimannan is complete and a final schedule is to be shot in foreign locations. Hansika and Deeksha Seth play the female leads. The film is like to hit the screens for Pongal next year. 

Simbu's 'Vada Chennai' with Vetrimaran which is put on a temporary hold is likely to resume once all his projects are wrapped.

Dhanush's Bollywood debut film Raanjhnaa will start rolling in June. Thanks to his Kolaveri number which landed him in this project. Dhanush will romance Sonam Kapoor and he plays a character called Kundan who hails from Varnasi. Actor Sonam Kapoor will be seen playing a role of a Varanasi girl, who pursues her education in Delhi.

The film is directed by Anand L Rai of Tanu weds Manu fame. The directed had tweeted, "Raanjhanaa starts in june. Its a delight to know an actor like Dhanush. Loves his understanding of the character. Really enjoying the look test with Sonam Kapoor for Raanjhanaa. Looking forward to our shoot in june. It will be fun." Dhanush is currently shooting for 'Mariyaan' directed by Bharath Bala in South Africa.
