Singh Is Bliing Trailer Review – Lacks the magic of its prequel!

In 2008 came a movie called Singh Is King and won hearts of millions with its comedy and performances! Akshay Kumar who was that time, at the peak of his career now returns with its sequel Singh Is Bliing but with a change in direction from AneesBazmee to Mr. Prabhudeva and the film is set to release in theaters on the 2nd of October!

The spoiled brat Raftaar Singh (Akshay Kumar)heads to Goa to work and be more responsible. Soon he gets an important assignment from his boss which gets him to meet Sara (Amy Jackson) and falls for her and somehow ends up in Romania where he meets Mark the villain (Kay Kay Menon). What follows is a great comedy of errors, as one hilarious situation after another unfolds.

The last few films of Mr. Prabhudeva surely made money but failed miserably amongst the critics. His last ‘Action Jackson’ is regarded as the worst movie of all times. Although from the trailer itself one can make out that it lacks the magic of its prequel but looks much better than Prabhudeva’s previous flicks. The film is looking different than a tapori setting for the first time. Plus, this time around the heroine of the film has not been objectified luckily for Amy Jackson. However, this is Prabhudeva's first original directorial venture and not a remake of a previous south Indian film and that might be the scariest fact.

The jokes and one-liners in the trailer aren’t funny and not witty enough but Akshay somehow manages to pull them off. Even the songs lack originality and ‘Aaja Mahi’ and ‘Tung Tung’ which are heard in the trailer have been taken from individual albums.

This is Akshay’s fourth film this year and he hasn’t failed to impress the audiences with his performances yet. In the prequel, he had done an outstanding job as a crazy and affectionate surd but will he be able to carry on his form is the big question as the whole film mostly depends on his bling. Amy Jackson really impresses in the trailer with her gorgeous looks and killer stunts. The cast also stars Lara Dutta, Rati Agnihotri, Yograj Singh and the veteran actor Kay Kay Menon.
