President Pranab Mukherjee watches Piku screening with Amitabh Bachchan

While recent release, ‘Piku’ has been well-received by both critics and fans, it was recently reported that President Pranab Mukherjee himself was also keen to watch the Amitabh Bachchan-Deepika Padukone starrer.

Amitabh Bachchan took to his blog to inform fans that the President infact did watch the film on Sunday (June 7) at the Rashtrapati Bhavan and absolutely loved it. Big B also wrote that President Pranab Mukherjee found the Bengali accent in the film to be flawless and enjoyed it the most.

“The Honourable President of India Shri Pranab Mukherji, tonight watched ‘PIKU’ and may I say with great reserve of modesty, he absolutely loved it ! Most particular he seemed to have enjoyed the ‘perfect’ Bengali-Hindi accent, which he felt was flawless. He later invited us over for dinner and we continued to discuss the film and its merits ..”

Amitabh Bachchan also described the picture at the Rashtrapati Bhavan and thanked the President for finding time to spend with the cast of the film.
