Friday Release
4 small films Mazhai Kaalam, Nandu Basky, Varudangal 20 and Asthamanam are releasing today. Multi-starrer Hindi film 'Housefull 2' is also releasing today. Asthamanam is a thriller with a running time of 90 minutes directed by Bandi Saroj Kumar of 'Porkkalam' fame.

Saguni completes song shoot
The song shoot of all the five tracks in Karthi's 'Saguni' is has been completed. The songs in film is said to have come out well with some foot-tapping and rocking tunes. The songs have been choreographed by popular choreographers Baba Baskar, Bobby Antony, Prem Razith and Raju Master. A melody song was recently shot in Poland with the duo Karthi and Pranitha. Karthi is said to have done a rocking performance in the songs. The audio of the film is expected to be released soon.
Pranitha plays the female lead. Santhanam, Prakash Raj, Radhika Sarathkumar and Mumtaz play pivotal roles in the film. The film is directed by debutant Shankar Dayal and music by G.V. Prakash.
Happy Birthday Jai!!!
Jai celebrated his birthday on the sets of Vettaimannan along with Simbu. Vijay who paid a surprise visit to the sets joined the birthday bash and wished the actor. Jai was really excited and happy about Vijay's presence on his birthday.
Jai and Simbu have been shooting for an action sequence for Vettaimannan involving 60 men. The scene was said to be shot using seven cameras. The film shooting is progressing in a brisk pace.
Irandam Ulagam update
The shooting of Selvaragavan's 'Irandam Ulagam' starring Arya and Anushkha is currently happening in South Goa. The schedule is almost to be wrapped and the team is set to return to Chennai. One song has been recorded for the film which was sung by Karthik. Harris Jayaraj is set to complete the recording of the other songs soon.
The film shooting is likely to resume after the strike announced by FEFSI starting April 7 comes to an end. The next schedule of the film is to be shot in Brazil.
Jiiva to team up with Vikram?
Vikram plays the lead in Bejoy Nambiar's Hindi film 'David'. The film has Tabu and Isha Sharvani playing the female lead. 'David' is a gangster flick with dark humour. According to the story the film will have three male leads who will all be called by the name 'David'. While Vikram has been confirmed as one of the David, Jiiva is said to have been roped in as the other David.
Buzz is SRK has been approached by the director to play one of the David and the star is yet to give a final nod. Vikram plays the role of a fisherman in Goa. Scenes have been canned in Goa, Mumbai and London.
Asthamanam Trailer
Asthamanam is an adventurous thriller directed by Bandi Saroj Kumar of 'Porkkalam' fame. The film is a slick thriller with a running time of 90 minutes without any tracks. The film got a U/A certificate from the censor board and was highly appreciated by the censor board officials for its concept.
The film stars Rajesh, Munnar Ramesh, Victoria, Vidya, Sharan and Raghu in the lead and has music by Siddharth Vipin. The film hits the screens today.
