Vikram is currently busy shooting for his film 'Thandavam' directed by A.L.Vijay of 'Deivathirumagal' fame. Vikram and Tollywood star Jagapathy Babu will play the roles of cop in the film. The film will showcase Vikram as a entirely different cop compared his role in Saami. The film would be a stylish action entertainer with grandeur. Anushka and Amy Jackson playing the female leads will share equal screen space and both of them play a very significant role in the film. The first look posters of the film released recently seems to have caught up with the audience.

The film has completed its schedule in Chennai and the team is set to leave to U.S to shoot some crucial scenes and songs. The film is produced by UTV. Music by G.V. Prakash.

Superstar Rajinikanth who had left to London on March 17 for the shooting of Kochadaiyaan is said to have returned to Chennai. Rajini's arrival back home has been maintained a secret. Superstar had earlier announced that he will be shooting in London for 20 days before he left to London. The actor seemed to have returned much earlier as he had completed his portions of the shooting.

However the film shooting is said to be continuing with the rest of the cast including Jackie Shroff, Shobana, Rukmini and Aadhi. The film is directed by Soundarya under the guidance of Ace director K.S. Ravikumar. Music score by A.R. Rahman.

Gemini bags Mani Ratnam's Kadal

The upcoming film 'Kadal' directed by Mani Ratnam has been acquired by Gemini Films for a huge amount of 25 crores on a first copy basis. The film is based on the lives of fisherman who lives in the coastal villages along Rameshwaram. Gautham and Samantha play the lead roles in the film. The shooting is currently happening along the coasts of Tiruchendur and Tuticorin. Arvindswamy, Laksmi Manchu play important roles. Music by A.R. Rahman.

'Billa 2' and 'Maatraan' update

The shooting of Ajith's 'Billa 2' having been wrapped, the team is busy with the post production of the film. The film's audio is expected to be released this month. Yuvan seems to be thrilled about the outcome of the songs in the film. The film would hit the screens towards the end of next month. The film is directed by Chakri Toleti.

Vidyut Jamwal who plays the baddie in Billa 2 has said, "Billa 2 is looking superb, full of thrills and real action, shot very well. Producer Sunir Khetrapal has taken the production to a new level. Thala is above average, he is super fit and a very natural actor, always happy and has no tantrums.”

Maatraan in IIT Campus

Surya's 'Maatran' directed by K.V. Anand was recently shot inside the IIT-Madras campus. An important scene was shot here after seeking special permission. Surya had earlier shot in the campus for A.R. Murugados's '7am Arivu'. The film is expected to hit the screens in July. Music by Harris Jayaraj.

Shruthi Haasan participates in 'Neengalum Vellalam Oru Kodi' Celebrity Special show hosted by Surya. This special episode is to be telecast today. The actress had tweeted, "Watch me on NVOK on Vijay TV at 8pm where I'm on the hot seat chatting GK and other fun stuff with my favouritest Surya!!".
