Balaji Motion Pictures acquires Shahid Kapoor's Udta Punjab

Udta Punjab starring Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Alia Bhatt in the lead roles went on floors recently in Amritsar.  The film also marks the debut of popular Punjabi actor Diljit Dosanjh. Udta Punjab is directed by Abhishek Chaubey and produced by Anurag Kashyap's Phantom Films. Udta Punjab looks at the increasing problem of drug abuse in Punjab. 

Balaji Motion Pictures has acquired the distribution rights of the film. Tanveer Bookwala, CEO of Balaji Motion Pictures said, "Yes we have acquired the rights of Udta Punjab and an announcement will be made on the matter soon."
