Marudanayagam returns with Rajini?

Marudanayagam the dream project of Kamal Hassan which was started way back in 1997 was shelved after 25% of the movie was shot. The high budget of the film was touted as one reasons for the film to be stopped. A period film set in the backdrops of 18th century revolves around the central character Marudanayagam alias Mohammed Yusuf Khan. The movie had created a great buzz at that time and huge expectations crept in surrounding the movie.

Grapevine was abuzz in K-Town that the magnum opus movie 'Marudanayagam' is to be revived by Kamal Hassan soon. Rajini to be roped in to play a crucial role and the film will see both the Super 'stars' sharing screen space together after a long time. PRO of Kamal Hassan has rubbished the news as rumours as Kamal has no plans of restarting the movie as of now. He also added that Kamal Haasan's next film after Vishwaroopam will be Thalaivan Irukkiran with Aascar Films. The actor is currently busy shooting for Vishwaroopam in Mumbai.

The shooting of all the films in Kollywood have been stalled due the TFPC-FEFSI row. It's been more than 3 weeks and the issue is yet to be resolved. Amidst all these issues, the shooting patch work of Billa 2 and Maatran is seemed to have started in Ramoji Rao Studios in Hyderabad.

The Billa 2 team which was shooting in Ramoji Rao Studios in Hyderabad was questioned on its non compliance with the ongoing strike and continuing the film shooting. The makers of the film had later clarified that the contract signed with the Ramoji Rao Studios entitles them to use their equipment and workers and the team has also ensured that technicians who wages are under dispute are not involved in the film. The film has to be completed soon and move on with the post production so that it can be released on May 1.

Maatran

The shooting of Maatran resumed yesterday in Ramoji Rao Studios in Hyderabad. A set worth one crore is said to have been erected in the Film City and a song shoot with Surya and Kajal Agarwal along with a group of Russian dancers was scheduled. The shooting was stopped quite immediately by Telugu Film Workers Union in support of the ongoing strike in Tamil film industry. The latest news is that the shooting has been resumed.

Ilayaraja and Thamarai join hands

Ilayaraja is composing music for the first time for a Gautham Menon's film. Lyricist Thamarai is also said to work with the music maestro for the first time. The duo have joined hands together for Gautham Menon's upcoming flick 'Neethane En Ponvasantham' starring Jiiva and Samatha. There are 7 tracks in the film and Isaigyani is said to have finished composing 3 songs.

Kadalil Sothapuvathu Yeppadi is a romantic comedy starring Siddharth and Amala Paul playing the lead roles. The film is directed by Balaji Mohan. Thamam has done the music score. The film is hitting the screens today.
