Roy Trailer Review
The long awaited trailer of debutant director Vikramjit Singh's film Roy starring Ranbir Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Jacqueline Fernandez is out. Though it looks very ambiguous, the one thing guaranteed from the first look of this romantic thriller is that it’s going be high on the style quotient with some super classy locations and the very stimulating background score!
The film is about a thief called Roy (Ranbir Kapoor), who is known to be one of the best in the history and a film director Kabir (Arjun Rampal) who is somehow very interested in the story of this conman. Roy shows up in Malaysia where the director is currently shooting for his new film with his love interest Ayesha (Jacqueline) who is fascinated by the thief. What is Roy’s plan? Who does Ayesha really love? And why is Kabir so interested in this thief? These are the real questions raised by the trailer!
Largely the film looks to be based on deception and false identities which is reflected by the concluding dialogue of Ranbir – “Hum insaan humesha kisi aur ki zindagi chura ke jeena chahte hain, ye fitrat hai humari” (We humans always wish to steal someone else’s life, it’s our habit).
After the dismal ‘Besharam’ and the zero year in 2014, Ranbir Kapoor is back and will be hoping to kick start the next year with Roy followed by Bombay Velvet. He does look convincing with his new look but will the storyline be convincing enough is doubt we have! The lead Arjun Rampal too will be looking for a career boost with this one and has a real chance in hands. Jacqueline is riding high on the success of Kick and is more than ready again to please the crowd with her stunning looks.
