The shooting of ‘Poda Podi’ has taken a considerably long time and the movie is yet to be wrapped. The delay in the film gave way to a lot of speculations including the whole project being shelved. The film stars 'Simbu' and Sarath Kumar’s daughter 'Varalakshmi' in the lead and is directed by Vignesh Shivan. The director has now cleared the airs stating that the film had its own reasons for the delay and the project is still ‘on’.

The storyline of the film showcases the lead pair in three phases of their life. The film is being shot in London and as per the script it can be shot only in a specific season, another reason for the delay. Additionally the film has a child who will be shown as a new born and as six months old. The prolonged tenure of the movie is a conscious call and the cast and crew were aware of it before the film commenced. The movie will definitely hit the screens much to the expectations of the audience.

Manoj Bajpai of Hindi ‘Satya’ fame to play an important role in ‘Samaran’ starring Vishal, Trisha and Sunaina. The Bollywood star is making his debut in Tamil through this film. Prakash Raj who had earlier essayed the role had walked out of the film due to inevitable reasons.

The film’s director Thiru of ‘Theeradha Vilayattu Pillai’ fame had zeroed in on Manoj Bajpai as the next best suit for the role and the actor had readily accepted impressed with the script. Also Tollywood star Chakravarthy has been roped in the film to play a pivotal role.
