Grapevine was abuzz that the release of Maatraan would be delayed and scheduled for a release in June and not in April as expected. Director K.V. Anand has smashed rumours by tweeting in his microblog, “We never announced the release date of Maattrraan. So why we have to put off the release”. Maatraan has Surya and Kajal Agarwal in the lead. Harris Jayaraj does the music score for the film.

Vijay TV ‘targets’ Biggies

Vijay TV has grabbed the television rights of both the Pongal releases ‘Nanban’ and ‘Vettai’ at record prices. The channel is reported to be targeting the rights for ‘Billa 2’ and ‘Maatraan’ next.
