Mani Ratnam's next film 'Pookadai' which has been kept under tight wraps until now is expected to have an official launch on January 17. Karthik's son 'Gautham' will play the lead role. Bollywood glam babe 'Sonam Kapoor' is making her debut in Tamil as female lead. Arjun who plays a prominent role is joining the movie's shooting from February. Script is written by Jeya Mohan. Madhan Karky and Vairamuthu have each written lyrics. Music by AR Rahman.

Bollywood heroines for Vikram

Vikram has been signed up for a Hindi film 'David' to be directed by Bejoy Nambiar. The movie will be his first venture into Hindi films as the 'hero'. Vikram will pair up with two heroines Tabu and Isha Sharvani in the film.

Jai and Anjali 'pair up' again

Jai and Anjali who shared an amazing onscreen chemistry in 'Engeyum Eppothum' have been signed up for a new film to be directed by Ram Gopal Varma's assistant Manjunath. The director who was impressed by their performance in 'Engeyum Eppothum' had roped them for his bilingual venture in Tamil and Telugu.
