Kick Movie Review - "Kick"ass fun

Ameet Bhuvan

Salman Khan starrer 'Kick' is undoubtedly one of the most awaited films which has hit the screens today. The film has high level of expectations from Salman's fans as well as the audience. The film also marks the directorial debut of producer Sajid Nadiawala. Does 'Kick' get you 'kicked'? Read on to find.

There always is very less in terms of a story in a Salman Khan film. Kick is no different. Basically this film is 'Dhoom 3' redone. Salman is Aamir,  the Joker symbol is replaced by a mask. And Abhishek Bachchan is replaced by Randeep Hooda.  The difference though is that each of these replacements are a better version of 'Dhoom 3'.

Devi Lal aka Devil is a guy who can do it all. He is yet looking for that 'kick' in life which bashing up goons, getting girls to run away and marry, and degrees hanging on his house wall do not give him. He therefore steals money from the rich bad guy Nawazuddin and saves lives of poor sick kids. And when he gets time from all this do gooder things, he romances the amazingly hot Jacqueline Fernandez.

Director Sajid intelligently does not do much to the Telugu original this film is a remake of. Instead he concentrates on accentuating the star power of Salman.  Salman is shown almost like a comic super hero. When he bashes people we see their X ray bones breaking. Logic safe to say is not the films strength but then thanks to the director that doesn't really harm you much.

The film is slick paced really fast not letting you feel bored. Jacqueline is smoking hot and appears right when the actual story begins to sag every time giving you some soothing for the eyes.

There is good action. Some nice ditties and most importantly a Salman who is not sleep walking through his role. Well almost not. He looks visibly old and tired. Yet he is definitely more invested in the film than his last two releases.

For Salman's fans this is a good treat. For others this is a decent watch with a huge gang. Catch it at a single screen and there is all the more fun to be had.
